Crosstown Jam The WAMA Crosstown Jam is an annual area-wide music showcase and fundraiser presented by the Washington Area Music Association (WAMA).

Now in its eighteenth year, the Jam, draws on the area's rich cross-section of musical styles and talent. The shows run the musical spectrum from blues to bluegrass and jazz to alternative rock, r&b, and hip hop. The musicians donate their time and talent, and where there is an admission charge, it is donated by the venues. The WAMA Crosstown Jam has been a wonderful way for area artists to showcase their talent while giving back to the community.

In 1986, the WAMA Crosstown Jam Committee was formed and soon began searching for a club and some musicians to take part in a charity concert. The response was so strong from bands and club owners that nine shows and fifty artists contributed to what became the first Crosstown Jam.

Crosstown Jam Tee The very attractive collector's item "Lee" 100% preshrunk cotton Crosstown Jam T-shirts will be available at all Jam shows for the especially reasonable price of $12. No wardrobe would be complete without one. These shirts have all of the bands and clubs listed on the back and they were designed by Lawrence Marie.
